L&#8217;esgl\u00e9sia de Sant Miquel de Palau, existent el s. XIII, fou sufrag\u00e0nia de la parr\u00f2quia major de Sant Feliu de Girona. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un temps d&#8217;haver estat adscrita a Fornells de la Selva, esdevingu\u00e9 vicariat independent el 1928, i parr\u00f2quia de ple dret el 1948.
